In a bid to encourage and facilitate environmental protection, we ensure that all our mining and industrial activities are executed with paramount consideration being given to compliance with local and international environmental legislations, regulations and standards which affect our business operations by our personnel, partners and contractors.

We also recognize the importance of building local capacity and manpower development in Nigeria and to this effect a principal area of focus for us is investing in employee training and development.

Community Relation

From, inception, Southport has maintained a very cordial relationship with the host communities within our area of operation and other crucial stakeholders in the Nigerian Cement and Mining Industry. Our key focus areas in terms of community development and the improvement of social welfare of our host communities are employment, health, education and social life which are in tandem with some of the key areas of focus in the 2030 UN sustainable development goals which highlights the private sectors’ vital role in ensuring a sustainable future for all.
